We are excited to collaborate with a leading global Phama company in Montreal, QC, focused on growth, quality, and innovation.

As the Controller, you will be a proactive business partner, working closely with the site leadership team to manage and oversee financial activities. Your role will involve key responsibilities such as providing financial analysis, managing monthly reporting, and ensuring compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements. With your expertise, you will drive our company’s growth and accounting initiatives. Together, let’s achieve excellence in financial management!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver financial analysis, monthly reporting, and financial statement development to support resource allocation decisions.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly general ledger activities.
  • Provide cash forecasting, planning, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial month-end close processes and results commentary.
  • Conduct costing analyses, including excess and obsolete inventory reviews.
  • Track and communicate progress on capital expenditure projects.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable activities, ensuring compliance and accuracy. Coordinate and consolidate internal financial reporting with subsidiaries, including collaboration with parent company.
  • Manage all GST/QST/Revenue Quebec, CBESST tax submissions, and salary processing.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications: 

  • CA or CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/financial analysis within a manufacturing company (pharmaceutical experience is an asset).
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and data mining.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to establish best practices in accounting, including cost accounting standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Critical thinker with a solutions-first mindset and a hands-on approach.
  • Thrives in high-growth environments with the ability to adapt under pressure and tight timelines.
